Hingham Reviews
The public schools are excellent. There is a strong expectation for students to work hard and succeed but competition is not hostile. As in many places, students can be cliquey. Athletics are also exceptional and draw high participation. Diversity, however, is lacking. Even with METCO, the schools are around 90% white.
The town is very family-friendly and sidewalks are near-universal. You will seldom drive more than 15 mins to get anywhere within town.
Hingham is an excellent place to live but if you are a young adult, non-white, or aren’t wealthy, the town’s demographics and cost of living may be challenging.
Local identity and community organizations are great, but nightlife is practically nonexistent. Crime is a trivial concern.
